Dr Khoh Soo Beng is a curious techie who loves to solve problems, explore possibilities and inspire
a new way of working. He has > 28 years of experience in R&D, manufacturing, IT, project and
innovation in Fortune 500 MNCs based in Malaysia and abroad. He helps working professionals,
organisations and business owners leverage Industry 4.0 technology, Lean, Six Sigma & Analytics to
create value in digital health, med-tech, electronics and semiconductor market verticals.
Dr Khoh consults internationally and has trained over 1,000 professionals and students as a trainer
(HRDF certified, former Motorola University) and Adjunct Professor (University of Wollongong-
Malaysia-KDU). Throughout his career, he has a broad spectrum of roles as R&D engineer,
advanced manufacturing technology (AMT) engineer, digital dashboard designer, Design for Six
Sigma (DFSS) 6-Sigma Consultant Black-belt, knowledge management champion, software &
process architect, program manager, innovation champion, inventor mentor, manager, strategic
change leader and triple-helix innovation ecosystem builder.
Dr Khoh understands innovative and disruptive technology and can link them to business strategy
for value creation. His technical interests include real-time embedded systems, automotive Controller
Area Network (CAN) bus, the Internet of Things(IoT), Industry 4.0 technology, MedTech, Digital
Health, analytics & digital dashboards, knowledge management, Lean, Six Sigma methodologies &
tools (DFSS, DMAIC, Lean, VOC, KJ, Kano, QFD, CPM, DFMEAs, FMEA, FTA, TRIZ etc.), new
product design & development, intellectual property management & patents, design thinking,
technology-enabled innovation, entrepreneurial and start-ups.
Dr Khoh graduated with a PhD in Electrical Engineering from the University of Warwick, UK, and is a
member of IAOIP (International Association of Innovation Professionals), IET, corporate life member
of IEM and a senior member of IEEE. He is Malaysia’s ISO 56000 Innovation Management mirror
committee chairperson and member of the International ISO TC279 Committee, as well as a director
of IAOIP. He has published > 50 papers in professional peer-reviewed research journals.
