Dr. Yong Chern Chet; Chet is currently ASEAN Healthcare Business Development Lead for Amazon Web Services (AWS) Worldwide Public Sector (WWPS) overseeing the healthcare go-to-market strategy encompassing the creation of industry programs and providing thought leadership with the aim of developing key commercial partnerships, initiating governmental collaborations and pioneering healthcare innovation with AWS “lighthouse” customers. Prior to this, he was the founding Chief Operating Officer for Good Doctor Technology (a Southeast Asian region early stage digital health start-up headquartered in Singapore backed by Ping An Good Doctor, Grab & Softbank’s Vision Fund) with a simple but profound mission of enabling “Better Healthcare for All”. Good Doctor does this by creating a digital new normal for healthcare delivery, continuously apply data analytics into business processes and leveraging A.I./Machine Learning methodologies to amplify human (doctor) productivity and capability. From its digital healthcare ecosystem; 3 key health services are available (via the Grab App in Indonesia together with a standalone Good Doctor App elsewhere): 1. Telemedicine (Consult), 2. Online Pharmacy (Commerce) and 3. Health and Wellness Engagement Tools (Content) – giving accessible quality & convenient 24/7 direct to consumer offerings (B2B/B2G options as well) to customers. Chet was previously with Ananda Development PCL a leading Thai real estate group in the role of Chief Innovation Officer. Under Dr. Yong’s leadership, in July 2018 Ananda Development’s corporate innovation achievements were acknowledged via an Enterprise Innovation Award at the 24th Asia IoT Business Platform for the use of Big Data and Machine Learning technology to enhance business operations and in September 2018 Ananda Development was again successful as the Thailand winner of IDC’s Asia Pacific Digital Transformation Awards (DXa) 2018 under the Operation Model Master category. Before Ananda, Dr. Yong was Vice President at regional health provider group Parkway Pantai and the CEO of its clinical diagnosis/pathology division Parkway Laboratories. As the company head and transformation architect, he achieved quick successful turnaround of the business by embedding innovation and digital capability within core operations. Early career experience includes time in management consulting as the Healthcare Industries Sector Leader and a Director with the Risk Consulting Practice for Deloitte Southeast Asia and as practicing medical doctor he held clinical leadership and operations management roles with Raffles Medical Group after serving within the public sector with National Healthcare Group (NHG) where he underwent general surgery and orthopaedics specialist training at the National University Hospital (NUH) in Singapore.
