What is a PUI for Covid-19

This person who has BOTH 

• Fever or Acute Respiratory Infection (sudden onset of respiratory infection with at least one of these symptoms – shortness of breath, cough or sore throat) AND

• Travel to the affected countries1 in the past 14 days before the onset of illness OR Close Contact2 in the 14 days before illness onset with a confirmed case of Covid-19

  Affected countries are China, Macau, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Korea, Japan, Italy, Iran, Denmark

Close contact is defined as

• Healthcare Workers exposed without appropriate Personal Protection E to Covid-19 patients, working with Healthcare Workers infected with Covid-19, visiting patients or staying in same close environment of a Covid-19 patient

• Working together in close proximity or sharing the same classroom environment with a Covid-19 patient

• Traveling together with a Covid-19 patient

• Living in the same household with a Covid-19 patient
